PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 14, 2011 – Automotive special event marketing company, ASPM has embraced the wave of new smart phone technology bmw M5 specification by including QR (quick response) codes on their marketing materials, event invitations and e-mails to prompt customers to pre-register for sales events using their smart phones. The QR code makes registering and setting an appointment with the dealerships as easy as taking a picture with their camera on their phone.
"The use of QR codes in the automotive business is growing. We saw it as an opportunity to give our clients an additional service as well as offering their customers an easy way to participate in the sales events," says President of ASPM, Robert Thomas. "Customers today want things easy and this technology gives them what they want."
A Quick Response (QR) code is a two-dimensional or "matrix" barcode containing data that can be read by a smart phone using the phone's camera and a QR code reader application. Once scanned, the QR code can direct the user to a URL, dial a phone number, set up a calendar event, direct you to an email address, send a SMS (text message), or provide geo-location (mapping) information. They contain a higher data capacity than other barcodes.
